Guildford, 6 July 2020 – Specialist law firm Thomas Mansfield Solicitors expands its family law department with the appointment of non-confrontational divorce and separation lawyer Kate Newton. Kate qualified in 2016 and joins from Burgess Mee Family Law. She will be based in the Guildford office of the firm.
Kate advises on a range of issues including financial settlements, private law children matters, domestic violence and injunctions. She understands that these issues can be very difficult and aims to deal with them in a sensitive and conciliatory manner. She recognises the importance of keeping matters out of court, but when court proceedings become necessary, Kate has experience in guiding clients through the process.
Neill Thomas, co-founding partner of the firm, said: “As Thomas Mansfield Solicitors expands within its three specialist areas – family, employment, and private client law –Kate’s energy and experience is exactly what we need.
“Spending time in confined spaces during the lockdown has changed the dynamics of many family relationships, and people are rushing to divorce or marry, seek help against domestic violence, and rearrange child maintenance agreements.
“We are thus seeing increased demand for our family law practice so these are very exciting times for Kate to be joining the team.”
