Nullity and Civil Partnerships

A civil partnership may be found to be void in the following circumstances:

• the parties are ineligible to register as civil partners;
• the correct formalities had not been followed;

A civil partnership may be found to be voidable in the following circumstances:

• lack of consent;
• either party suffers from a mental health disorder so as to be unfit for civil partnership;
• at the time of the civil partnership the respondent was pregnant by another person
