Sophia graduated from the University of Kent LLB (Hons) in Laws in 2018. She has recently joined our Family Law department at Thomas Mansfield Solicitors as a Legal Assistant. Her responsibility is to assist our solicitors, mainly by liaising with clients, preparing court documents and correspondence, amending legal documentation and ensuring the proper organisation of client files. She is also fluent in French, and has a solid knowledge of legal French. Sophia’s ultimate aspiration is to qualify as a Family Law solicitor.
During her final year of University, Sophia undertook work as a Student Paralegal at Kent Law Clinic, where she managed her own Family Law case involving children’s living arrangements and matters of removing children from the jurisdiction. In this role, Sophia gained experience working on the case, ranging from preliminary matters, to preparing court statements, conducting client interviews and drafting advice letters for clients. In addition to Family Law, Sophia also has experience of working on Social Welfare cases, as well as having undertaken a placement in a Corporate and Immigration law firm in Malta, in the capacity of a Legal Intern, reporting directly to the managing partner – a UK barrister.
