Kathryn graduated from Canterbury Christ Church University with a First-Class degree in Law in the summer of 2019 and joined Thomas Mansfield Solicitors in September 2019 working as a Paralegal in the Family and Wills & Probate departments at our Tunbridge Wells office. Kathryn is currently undertaking a Legal Practice Course with the aim to qualify as a solicitor.
Kathryn is passionate about Family Law and aspires to eventually qualify as a Family Solicitor in order to help clients work through their family conflict and obtain a fair settlement. She works closely with solicitors assisting them to generally progress each case ensuring that clients are fully up to date with the progress of their matter. Kathryn is especially experienced in assisting with the preparation of full and frank financial disclosures in accordance with the court’s specific requirements. Kathryn also assists our solicitors by drafting applications to the court for divorce and childcare disputes.
Kathryn provides sensible advice in order to enable clients to make informed decisions regarding their options. She is pro-active in progressing matters and understands the need for matters to be resolved or completed in a timely manner. Kathryn understands the anxiety clients may feel when needing to instruct a lawyer and therefore believes it important to act with patience, understanding and provides clients with clear and concise explanations.
Kathryn values Alternative Dispute Resolution and recognises the importance of trying to reach an agreement outside of court. Kathryn has a broad knowledge of the mediation process and can advise clients about the advantages of mediation. During her time at university, Kathryn won an award for her co-mediation skills and also competed in a UK National Student Mediator Competition where her team placed third.
