TM Family Law announces exciting new developments and a new office for 2023

Thomas Mansfield Family Law has had an exciting start to 2023 with the appointment of Kate Rayner as Head of Thomas Mansfield Family Law, the development of a new and dedicated family dispute resolution (DR) department led by Susi Gillespie and the opening of a new office in Guildford.

Kate RaynerKate Rayner, who previously headed up the regional office of a national family law firm, will be responsible for the ongoing development of the family team at Thomas Mansfield Family Law.

Recognised in The Legal 500 as ‘calm and professional’, Kate advises on divorce settlements, cohabitation disputes, nuptial and separation agreements, and disputes between parents and relatives over arrangements for children, regularly acting for clients in private law children cases. Her particular specialism is in medium to high-net-worth financial cases involving family-run businesses, shareholdings in public companies and complex trust structures.

Susi Gillespie has been appointed Head of the newly created family DR team. Susi is a highly experienced trained mediator, collaborative lawyer and a qualified Resolution Accredited Specialist in the areas of complex financial remedies and cohabitation (unmarried) disputes.

The family DR team will bring together its mediation, collaborative law and, soon to be introduced, one couple one lawyer service which will offer clients innovative solutions to resolve family disputes outside of court.

The appointments follow the opening of Thomas Mansfield’s Guildford office in February, in response to increasing demand from clients based in Guildford and the surrounds.

Kate Denham, Head of the Guildford Family Law Team, said, “Guildford has been a fantastic base for us over the years and we’re delighted to be cementing our position as an accessible law firm in the heart of our local community. Taking on bigger space here reflects not just our commitment to the area, but also our teams’ growth and our exciting plans for the future.”
