Family lawyers in the Tunbridge Wells office of specialist law firm Thomas Mansfield are showing their support for the Good Divorce Week 2020 by offering free 30-minute advice sessions to families in Kent between 30 November and 4 December. Those participating this year are Head of the Family law department Susi Gillespie and Partner Alice Scambler.
Good Divorce Week is an annual campaign that aims to promote practical and constructive ways for separating parents to put the needs of their children first. Organised by Resolution, a community of more than 6,500 family justice professionals, this year the campaign focuses around the benefits of early legal advice.
Resolution members believe that the process of separating, sorting out finances and arranging childcare should be done in a way that minimises conflict and keeps the best interests of any children involved at the heart of proceedings. By seeking early professional advice, couples have the benefit of considering a range of options and making a decision that is most suitable to all parties.
Speaking about the campaign, Susi explained: “Members of Resolution at Thomas Mansfield, Alice and I are eager to support the Good Divorce Week by giving our time to separating couples who recognise and strive to minimise the impact of their tough decision particularly when children are involved. The free advice we are offering during the week will give such families the confidence and knowledge to make the best decisions with as little conflict as possible.”
