Louise Minifie
Partner & Head of International Family Law
Louise is a Partner and Head of International Family Law at Thomas Mansfield Solicitors. She provides clients with sensible and practical advice to enable them to make informed decisions as to how they wish to proceed. She is pro-active in progressing matters, understanding the need for matters to be resolved as swiftly as possible.
Louise has over 12 years’ post-qualification experience in family law. She practises in all areas of family law including divorce and separation, financial settlements and co-habitation. She is sensitive to the fact that the breakdown of a relationship is very difficult and will assist in obtaining a fair settlement. She also advises in disputes concerning children including who the child will live with and how much time the child will spend with the non-resident parent.
Much of Louise’s work has an international aspect and she regularly advises clients living abroad, with overseas assets or where the case involves the cross-border movement of children. Louise has advised clients in relation to child abduction and relocation both nationally and internationally, successfully securing orders permitting the resident parent to be able to relocate with their child abroad.
Louise also advises in domestic abuse matters and is pro-active in taking steps to secure emergency protection for the client where necessary. She will assist clients in securing legal protection from any further harm as well as ensuring they receive practical solutions to protect themselves.
Louise represents clients at court hearings which assists in fully preparing the client for what to expect at any hearings and in preparing the case for court.
Louise is a member of The Law Society’s Advanced Family Panel. This accreditation is recognised by the public, professionals and the Judiciary as a mark of excellence.
